My First Night at AU.
June 17, 2012 this is the day I arrived on Auburn University Campus. My first impression was "Gosh! This is a beautiful campus." Outside of Auburn, I've been to one other College Town campus - University of Georgia, but UGA's architecture had nothing on Auburn's architecture. The style of the dorms put me in the mind of Old English Royal Mansion and for some reason I felt like I belonged here, even though both UGA and Auburn at large universities Auburn had a close knit feel to it. Outside of the marvelous exterior the interior did not disappoint. The first thing that made be fall in love was the fact that the dorm had an ELEVATOR! I know this may seem like a weird surprise but at UGA the dorms did not have ANY Elevators that means I had to walk up and down FOUR FLIGHTS OF STAIRS, my legs got a killer workout that week. Another advantage Auburn had was the bathrooms, unlike, the community bathroom I experienced the week before, here at Auburn the two dorms share one bathroom so, instead of sharing stalls with a floor of 20 girls, I am just sharing a bathroom with three other people which makes feel A LOT more comfortable.
Besides the wonderful campus, the students are just as amazing! My roommate, Genesis, is from Newton, GA then moved to Florala, Ala. (a culture shock indeed) we share the same interest in movies and are both the only child which is a bit shocking because I'm usually the only child. The other students here are a ball of fun as well, last night after the orientation dinner we headed back to the dorms and played football in the front lawn (yet, another thing I like about Auburn .... All The OPEN GREEN SPACE). Playing football with the other members of the camp allowed me to meet new people and show my competitive side which I really enjoyed. My overall Auburn Journalism Camp thus far has exceeded my expectations.
